Timeline:
This week we (Amanda Bennick, Nancy Laning, and Sai Wang) searched the archives, internet, and library referenced to sort through dates related to Harry’s life and art career. We continued email strain with Chris Overvoorde (Harry Brorby’s student, artist, and now professor emeritus at Calvin College) and Pati Bekken (Saugatuck Center for the Arts) for class visits.
Provenance:
This week we were mostly focusing on research for our independant projects in light of the upcoming draft deadline. However, we did email Pati about a sales ledger for the May auction - no reply yet. Other than that, we continued combing through the archives and entering data as before.
Digitization:
This week we found a number of film images documenting Harry’s artwork from the 50’s. We scanned them and began chronologically compiling images onto a powerpoint.
Organization:
Wow are we findings some cool stuff! We found more photos and some college papers written by Harry himself. We are reading through these hefty papers to understand where we should put them.
